In light of on-going developments with COVID-19, the ASFA Board of Directors and 2020 Organizing Committee are pleased to announce that the ASFA 2020 Virtual Fall Meeting will take place September 23 – 25, 2020. Live presentations will be spread out over 2 shorter days to ensure that content is delivered in more digestible segments. Our pre-conference day on Wednesday, September 23rd will allow participants to familiarize themselves with the platform, create their schedule, review meeting materials, and participate in networking opportunities. All sessions will be easily accessible on-demand for conference attendees to view at their own convenience.
Networking is a cornerstone of our in-person meetings and attendees will have the opportunity to partake in interactive and engaging experiences through a new dynamic virtual conference platform. The virtual system we will use also has interactive exhibition features and includes plentiful opportunities for sponsorship exposure, all while attendees connect from the comfort and safety of their home or office.
The Fall Meeting will feature a number of scientific and education sessions, including:
- Opening Symposium: Sickle Cell Disease: Past, Present, and Future
- Scientific Symposium: Clinical Trials
- Closing Symposium: Cellular Therapy
- Education Sessions on:
- Vascular Access
- Hot Topics in Apheresis
- Donor Apheresis
- AABB and ISCT Joint Sessions
- and more!
In addition, oral abstract presentations and e-posters will be made available via virtual meeting platform. “Expert Lounges”, similar to the Breakfast with the Experts rounds at the Annual Meetings will be offered at the Virtual Fall Meeting. The ASFA Virtual Fall Meeting is accredited for up to 30 CME/CEU/CMLE credits.
The preliminary program will be available in the coming weeks. We look forward to your participation in the ASFA 2020 Virtual Fall Meeting.
