Study Overview

The STAR study is a randomized trial of rituximab as early treatment for idiopathic Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). It will enroll patients who have recently been diagnosed with TTP or have recently experienced a relapse, and have not yet had 6 plasma exchanges during this episode of TTP.

Sample Size and Accrual

The target enrollment is 238. The study opened for enrollment in April 2009 and is expected to take 4 years to complete enrollment at approximately 25 clinical sites.
