ASFA Board of Directors Call for Nominations

The ASFA Nominating Committee is seeking volunteers for one open position in the Board of Directors for 2017. The committee highly encourages self-nominations from aspiring leaders, allied health and physicians in our field.

Official approval of the nominated directors and officers will take place at the Annual General Meeting during the ASFA 2017 Annual Meeting at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale next May. This position will commence immediately following the 2017 Annual Meeting.

The deadline to submit a nomination is November 18, 2016.

Open Position

One Director - All ASFA Members in good standing may apply.

Position Description

The ASFA Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the property and affairs of the Society. A Director shall be a member of the Society in good standing, and shall serve a term of 3 years and until his or her successor shall have been appointed and qualified.  For more information on the roles and responsibilities of the ASFA Board of Directors, please review the ASFA Bylaws available here:

If you are interested in or would like to nominate another ASFA member for the position listed above, please fill in this form and submit a current CV to the ASFA Head Office via email at or fax at 604.874.4378.

Please note, it is not required to submit a CV with the application if you are nominating a colleague. ASFA Head Office will be able to contact the nominee for his/her CV.

All nominations for the open Director position are forwarded to the Nominating Committee by the ASFA Head Office. The committee evaluates each nomination and schedules a telephone interview with each shortlisted nominee with all members of the committee. Once the committee identifies the most suitable nominee, it submits its recommended Board of Director slate to the current Board of Directors for approval. The Board of Directors then submits the slate to the ASFA membership for approval at the Annual General Meeting.
