ASFA 2012 TTP Consensus Conference
The American Society for Apheresis is pleased to announce the 1st ASFA Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) Consensus Conference to be held on April 10, 2012 at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA. This consensus conference has been developed by an ASFA TTP Special Committee to address the need for formalized and professional guidelines for the diagnosis and management of TTP. This one day consensus generating conference will address these critical knowledge gaps in TTP.Attendees of the TTP Consensus Conference, attendees will have a thorough understanding of definition, pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of TTP obtained through consensus amongst the world’s leading experts. This will be accomplished via a thorough discussion amongst the expert panellists and audience participation.
The TTP Consensus Conference will be held as a pre-conference program to the ASFA 2012 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. The major aims of this Conference will be to discuss and develop consensus regarding the nomenclature, diagnosis including role of ADAMTS13 and management of TTP.
The TTP Consensus Conference will be moderated by Harvey Klein, MD, Department of Transfusion Medicine, National Institute of Health (NIH), and Darrell Triulzi, MD, Vice President and Medical Director, Institute for Transfusion Medicine (ITxM) and will include the following major topics and speakers:
