Major Charges/Projects

The Allied Health Committee is responsible for providing representation and recognition for allied health professionals and for promoting a forum for education, consultation and scientific exchange for allied health professionals.

This year,  the Committee has focussed its energy on developing and exceptional and expanded educational program for the Annual Meeting.

Future Projects

The Allied Health Committee plans on undertaking the following projects in the near future:

  • Revising and publishing the 4th edition of the Principles of Apheresis Technology textbook that was last revised in 2003
  • Developing educational material for allied health professionals interested in conducting scientific research
  • Developing review material for the Hemapheresis and Apheresis Technician exams
  • Producing patient education materials (in English and Spanish) 
Meeting Schedule

The Allied Health Committee meets monthly via teleconference.  The Committee also meets in person at the Annual Meeting.

ASFA members are invited to apply to serve on the Allied Health Committee by sending an email, stating their interest in joining the Allied Health Committee to asfa@apheresis.org.  Please include a brief CV as an attachment to your email.
