The Apheresis Categories Subcommittee is a subcommittee that reports to the Apheresis Applications Committee.
The Apheresis Categories Subcommittee is responsible for category assignment of medical conditions treated by therapeutic apheresis. The Subcommittee publishes its work in a Special Review Issue of the Journal of Clinical Apheresis every three years. The Subcommittee will be publishing the 2007 Special Review Issue of the Journal of Clinical Apheresis shortly. The 2007 Special Review Issue will serve as the key resource for information on medical conditions treated by therapeutic apheresis. This new issue will differ from past special review issues in that it will be evidence based.
Meeting Schedule
The Apheresis Categories Subcommittee meets regularly in the course of publishing a Special Review Issue. The Subcommittee also meets in conjunction with the Apheresis Applications Committee monthly via teleconference and in person at the Annual Meeting.

This Subcommittee is in the process of completing its major charge and is not currently seeking new members.
